Lucky has been with our equestrian therapy program for more than ten years.
Imagine how many souls one can touch in ten years! This mare is magic. Safe Haven Farm is a non-profit group home and working farm for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.

We have all sorts of therapies and programs. Everything from art therapy, greenhouses, goats, fishing ponds, music therapy, hiking, sensory gardens and even solar energy farming. But nothing is as precious to our program as Lucky.
Not only does she touch the hearts and minds of residents, which we call farmers, but the day rehabilitation participants and staff, too!
As equestrian director I have more than 40 years of horsemanship and I am so incredibly grateful for the time spent with this “free and sometimes lame” horse. I’ve never met one more valuable. We are all “Lucky.”
