Therapy Horse of the Week: Hanna

Hanna is a 24 year old Welsh Mountain Pony who was a broodmare for most her life.

I owned Hanna for 10 years. She was green broke to ride but at 12.2 hands, she’s really too small for me. Mostly, she was a lawn ornament. My friend Kay was in need of a therapy pony, so the day after Christmas 2021, l gave Hanna to Kay’s program, called SHADOW Equestrian.

Hanna has found her niche. She is the perfect size for riders and volunteers are on the same level as the rider. Hanna also loves the adult grooming program.

Hanna was a champion at her first student fundraiser horse show. The audience, and new strange surroundings didn’t phase her.
