Francis — one in a million

“It is with great pride that I introduce Francis, New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding Foundation’s grand schoolmaster.

Francis is a 26-year-old Saddlebred who has dedicated his equine career to giving confidence, safety and affection to therapeutic as well as able-bodied equestrians for the last 15 years. Francis is always a barn favorite due to his work ethic with instructors and riders alike, in areas of English, show and trail riding, but more importantly due to knowing his job, which is to provide his rider with a sense of peace and personal accomplishment.

Francis is a unique equine partner who gives 100% to support the needs and abilities of his individual riders which may include autism or PTSD. Francis is a mentor to his riders and the volunteers of the program, as he challenges all of us to reach our full potential. One word that sums up Francis is ‘influencer’ as he has guided all his riders on a path of new beginnings or experiences never thought possible by the participant nor their families until they met and started working with him.

We are so proud of Francis and the contributions he provides for our participants to achieve outstanding milestones in their lives physically, emotionally and socially. Francis truly is a one in a million horse in terms of his work ethic, safety and adjustments he provides to the individual riders. We are truly honored to work with, cherish and love Francis.” —Sandra F.
