“Six years ago I was disabled physically and mentally from PTSD and personal challenges after my time serving in the Navy. After so many years of struggling to find my footing within the civilian workforce. Pretending I was invisible and OK, when truly I was like a ship lost in a windless and starless ocean.

I started to become a shut-in and was shutting down from family and friends. My husband decided to take a leap of faith and stumbled upon a miniature horse named Beasley. When I met him I had an automatic connection with this small guy and began my path with post-traumatic development therapy.

From grooming to training, we both helped one another grow and he has brought me so far out of my shell that I was even able to attend my son’s and daughter’s graduations. Now I own him, and cannot go a day without hugging him. I even am trying to develop a program to have him help others, and visit the ones in need. He saved me, my family and my quality of life.” —Christine L.
